Houghton Planning Commission to Consider Pot Shop, Doughnut Shop Tonight.

The Houghton City Planning Commission’s meeting tonight will include a public hearing regarding a request for a special use permit.

NU Group, LLC, wants to open a marijuana retail outlet at 1301 Ridge Road, in the former Bambu Restaurant building. The commission could act on the request, following the hearing.

The commission will also review proposed site plans for a garage on the Flowers by Sleeman property on Memorial Road, an addition to the rear of the Houghton Building Supply building on Brickyard Lane, and the proposed Dunkin’ Donuts building that would replace the former Hardee’s Restaurant on Memorial Road.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 5:30 at the City Center. Review the agenda and related documents here.
