Village of L’Anse: Street Paving Projects Identified for Summer

The Village of L’Anse has identified two potential street paving projects for the upcoming summer.

At last night’s meeting, council members authorized the village staff to prepare preliminary engineering work so bids can be solicited for resurfacing Fourth Street from the school down the hill toward the wastewater treatment plant, along with a deteriorating section of Bayshore Road.

Village manager Bob LaFave said he hopes both projects can be addressed this summer, but they won’t know for sure until they see the actual cost.

In other action, the council adopted the village’s new capital improvement plan, which will extend through 2028.

Council members approved the sale of a lot in the industrial park to Tom Reed, who owns Northern Painting and Coatings.

Village officials also noted that the annual village clean-up is scheduled for April 22nd.
