ORV Enthusiasts Are Reminded to Drive Safe.

Spring brings opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, and with ATV season having officially started this week, ORV enthusiasts need to remember how to be safe when driving.

“We have, too often, accidents that take place, and most of them are so preventable. It’s just high speeds, people that are driving outside of their ability. They are dangerous. people have to respect them.” – John Donnelly, Chief of Police in Houghton, MI

Donnelly also stated that many accidents are caused by mixing intoxicants with driving.

The City of Houghton and the City of Hancock have police escorts to allow ORV’s to cross the bridge at specified times. A group must be present at the specified locations.
