The city of Houghton could know as early as tomorrow if their effort to PACK the DEE was enough to earn a spot in second round in the Hockeyville USA contest.
If selected, the city will begin a massive push for public support next week as the next round depends heavily on a voting system similar to those used on television talent shows. Over a period of only a few days, residents will have a variety of ways to cast votes and a limited number of votes they can cast per day.
The total number of votes will be used to determine which community will receive $150,000 for upgrades to their rink and will host a pre-season NHL game.
