Support for Part-time Legislation

According to a statewide poll, more than half of Michigan voters support a ballot proposal that changes Michigan’s full time-legislature to a part-time body. The survey, from the Lambert, Edwards and Associates public relations firm, shows 53 percent of 600 likely voters support the switch, with only 30 percent opposing the idea. Seventeen percent were undecided. The most support came from independent voters, as 63 percent of the respondents favor a part time legislature. 58 percent of Republicans support it and 44 percent of Democrats do.
