Hancock’s city council will seek to approve property purchases during a special meeting tonight. The Hancock city council will meet tonight to discuss the city’s plans to purchase the Quincy Green and Ryan Street Gardens from Finlandia University.

Hancock plans to purchase the two properties from O’Keefe LLC, the state appointed receiver handling Finlandia University’s remaining debts, for a total of 167,000 dollars. The agreement would sell the Quincy Green back to the city for 140,000 dollars. The Ryan Street Gardens are valued at 27,000 dollars.

The city’s special meeting to purchase property from Finlanida University will begin at 6 pm, in the council chambers at city hall.
