Michigan Tech University Enters Five Year Agreement as a NIST PREP University

Michigan Tech University has entered a new agreement with a national initiative that will help continue to support Student and Faculty research. Michigan Tech recently signed into an agreement, a five-year cooperative agreement with the National Institute of Standards and Technologies’ professional Research Experience Program. The agreement is worth 5.4 million dollars and will support research efforts conducted by the university’s graduate students and faculty. The agreement provides laboratory and financial assistance to further efforts in science and engineering in the United States. Michigan Tech University is one of seventeen NIST PREP universities in the nation. And the only institution located in Michigan. The National Institute for Standards and Technology’s mission is to promote innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement sciences, standards, and technology in ways that grow economic security and improve the quality of life of individuals in the united states.
