Frahm Sets Career Scoring Record in Jets Win – Friday Sports Wrap

High School

In high school hockey last night…
• Jeffers skated to a 6-1 win over Manistique. Brit Heinonen, Kailob Bianco, Benton Rajala, Cage Osterman, Ethan Anderson and Cody Turner each scored. Kasen Helminen earned the win in net.

In hockey tonight…
• Calumet skates at Escanaba. Coverage will begin at 6:40 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3.

In boys basketball last evening…
• Levi Frahm set a new Jeffers High School career scoring record, as the Jets outpointed Lake Linden-Hubbell 87-60. Frahm poured in 34 points, to bring his career total to 1,234. That broke the old mark of 1226, held by Johnny Schutz, Jr. Frahm also snared 13 rebounds. Lincoln Just and Damien Heikkinen each added 15 for the Jets. Danny Marcotte scored 24 for the Lakes, and Gabe Popko chipped in 14.
• Dollar Bay-Tamarack City fell to Stephenson 54-36.

In girls action last night…
• Houghton got past Gladstone 56-52. Ellie Hainault had 14 points and seven rebounds for the Gremlins, and Clea Ollanketo added 13 points. Gladstone’s Lillie Johnson led all scorers with 20.

GLHL

The Portage Lake Pioneers and the Calumet Wolverines will play a home-and-home series this weekend. Games begin at 7:30 tonight at the Colosseum, and tomorrow at Dee Stadium.

NHL

The Red Wings entertain the Flyers tonight. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Pistons’ futility streak reached 25 games last night, with a 119-111 loss to the Jazz. Cade Cunningham scored 28 for Detroit, Jaden Ivey added 24, and Marvin Bagley III netted 22. Isaiah Stewart grabbed 10 rebounds. Utah won the game despite missing four of their top six scorers.

The Pistons visit the Nets tomorrow evening.

NFL

In last night’s NFL game, the Rams held off the Saints 30-22. 

On the NFL schedule tomorrow…
• The Bengals visit the Steelers for a 4:30 contest.
• The Chargers host the Bills in an 8:00 tilt.
Both games will be broadcast on 99.3 The Lift.
