Baraga County Receives Grant for Point Abbaye Development

Baraga County has been awarded a $300,000 grant to help develop its park at Point Abbaye.

The award was announced at last night’s county board meeting by county clerk Wendy Goodreau, who said the money can be used for additional trails, parking and campsites. Commissioners commended Goodreau for her work in helping to procure the grant.

At a brief meeting, Brad Dakota was chosen to continue as the board’s vice-chair.

Commissioners chose Elcom Systems as the low bidder to install communications and computer equipment in the new sheriff’s department vehicle, at a cost of $10,145.
