Rapid River Manufacturer Awarded Funding from MEDC and MMBDC for Facility Expansion Project and Job Creation

A Rapid River Manufacturer will receive a portion of 2.2 million dollars in funding to support an expansion project that will create local employment opportunities. Yesterday the Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced a 2.2 million dollar investment into two business expansion plans that will create 117 new jobs in the state.

Creative Composites, founded in 1994 and based in Rapid River, will use 960,000 dollars of the 2.2 million dollar investment to expand its existing facility and create 17 new positions. In addition, Creative Composites expansion plans were also granted 135,000 dollars for the project by the Micro Michigan Business Development Program. Creative Composites has seen tremendous growth in the past three years, allowing the company to reach more people across the country. It chose to expand its operations in the Upper Peninsula over a potential location in North Carolina, due to its belief in the strong talent demonstrated by Michigan’s residents.
