Michigan’s Presidential Primary Tomorrow Including Three Local Measures

Early voting centers throughout Michigan are now closed. Clerks will begin preparing for remaining voters to cast their ballots in the February primary election tomorrow. Many will stop by their polling place with plans to pick their presidential candidate.

“The envelopes up to the courthouse along with the big and the cards because before we used to transmit through a VPN. Per proposal two, we will no longer do that. We’re going to, I’m going to have to manually upload every single card for every tabulator on election night.” – Jen Kelly, County Clerk, Houghton County

Some in Houghton County will consider local measures that impact residents in three communities. Adams Township School District will consider a millage renewal for nine years of 19.2 mills. Laurium residents will consider a millage renewal that will generate 29,000 dollars for snow removal in the village. Stanton’s residents will consider increasing the fire department millage to a standard 2 mills. Polling places will open tomorrow at 7 am. Find registered presidential candidates here.
