People living in lower Michigan may have felt a bit shaken Saturday afternoon after a magnitude 4.2 earthquake hit the region.

The quake struck at 12:23 p.m. five miles south of Galesburg and nine miles southeast of Kalamazoo where the United States Geological Survey says residents felt what would be considered “moderate” shaking.

Other areas affected include Kalamazoo, Lansing and Grand Rapids where light shaking could be felt.

The Michigan State Police say no injuries were reported.
