A 911 call was received by Negaunee regional dispatch of a fire off M26 in Greenland Township.
The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office along with Greenland and Rockland Fire Departments responded, Assisting in locating the fire was Twin Lakes DNR Fire with their plane.
The fire was located South of M26 approximately 1 mile west of Mass.
The fire consumed a large area of land including a deer blind. The cause of the fire was unknown.
Fire crews worked on extinguishing the fire for approximately 1 – 1/2hrs. There were no injuries reported.
