Butterfly Release on Saturday Will Bring the Community Together

UP health systems home care and hospice’s 3rd annual butterfly release will have the fascinating pollinator fly off in remembrance of those who have passed away. Saturday’s event will take place at Kestner park and include music from a local choir.

And this year it will be the choir, Noteworthy. They will sing some songs for us, prior to the release. And then we release the butterflies. And it brings people from the community together, as well as many of our hospice patient families.” – Julie Beck, Grief Counselor, UP Health Systems – Home Care & Hospice

The event strives to bring together the community, to grieve. Grief Councilor Julie Beck says it is better to process grief among friends and family than alone.

It’s a place where there’s calming music, calming people, things that are beneficial to those who may be still hurting in their hearts. So we encourage everyone to come down and watch as well.” – Julie Beck, Grief Counselor, UP Health Systems – Home Care & Hospice

Today is the final day to place a butterfly order for the UP health Systems Butterfly release on Saturday. The event will bring the community together for a period of mourning for friends and family who have died in the past year. The event raises funds through butterfly purchases that supports the group’s Hospice Promise Foundation. Please contact the UP Health Systems Home Care and Hospice to place a butterfly order at 906 483 1160.
