Celebrating All of Those Coming from Far Away to the Keweenaw Peninsula

The celebration of cultures from around the globe meeting and living in The celebration of cultures from around the globe meeting and living in the Keweenaw Peninsula starts tomorrow.

Michigan Tech University’s Parade of Nations, celebrating the school’s international student community, will start in Hancock. Students, community members, and parade floats will start to line up at the Quincy Green in downtown beginning at 10 a.m. The parade from Hancock, across the Portage Lake Lift bridge through downtown Houghton will begin at 11 a.m.

Annually the Parade of Nations is followed by a multicultural festival in the Dee Stadium. The festival invites international student groups to share a piece of home with the community. This year the festival happily brings a variety of entertainment from international students celebrating their culture, and some international trivia. The Multicultural Festival begins at noon tomorrow after the parade wraps up in Houghton.
