Community Drive For Mental Health

In recognition of May as a month dedicated to mental health awareness, Dial Help is partnering with Houghton/Keweenaw Communities That Care (HKCTC) to host a community drive.

The goal of the drive is to collect supplies to support local youth and families.

The drive is specifically asking for fidget toys for the Child Advocacy Center, hygiene products like shampoo/conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes/toothpaste, soap, feminine products, socks, and underwear. They are also asking for books for kids and teens.

Drop boxes are available at Dial Help’s office in downtown Houghton and other locations.

Please only donate items that are new and in the package, or books that are new or like new.

Besides the downtown Dial Help office, donations can be dropped off at Houghton Middle School, Dollar Bay Schools, Hancock Police Department, and KC Bonkers.

The drive on the last day of May, and donations can be dropped off all through the month.

You can also donate money to purchase these items through the Portage Health Foundation here or at  www.phfgive.org/contribute. Mark the funds for the Community Drive in the comment section.
