The Copper Kings came back, and Robert Hill drove in the game-winner in the sixth. Calumet opened the nightcap with a six-run burst in the first inning. Rory Anderson was on base six times, stole four bases, scored twice, and drove in four runs. Wyatt Loukas pitched the complete game.

MLB
The Detroit Tigers managed only one hit against a collection of Houston relievers, and lost 1-0 to the Astros last night. Brad Peacock came out of the bullpen to make a spot start. He pitched into the fourth, and struck out eight. Mikie Mahtook’s single in the third was the only blemish on his record. Three relievers closed out the shutout. Michael Fulmer took the hard-luck loss, giving up a run in the first inning, before pitching through the seventh.

Sanchez

The Tigers continue that series at Houston tonight. Jordan Zimmermann will start against Lance McCullers Jr. Pregame coverage will begin at 7:45 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

Tigers pitcher Aníbal Sánchez has accepted an assignment to the minor leagues. Sánchez will join the starting rotation at Toledo, as he continues to try to regain the form that earned him the American League earned run title in 2013. Sánchez started this season in the bullpen, but has struggled, and has not pitched often. Team officials hope that he can regain his form as a starter with regular work. Warwick Saupold has been called up to replace him.

The Milwaukee Brewers had yesterday off, and host the Blue Jays tonight. Jimmy Nelson will pitch against Joe Biagini.

NHL
In the NHL playoffs, the Predators advanced to the Stanley Cup series with a 6-3 victory over the Ducks. Nashville won the Western Conference final four games to two.

The Penguins could advance tonight with a win over the Senators. Pittsburgh leads the Eastern Conference final three games to two.

NBA
In the NBA playoffs, the Warriors moved into the championship series with a 129-115 win over the Spurs. Golden State swept the Western Conference final four games to none.

The Eastern Conference final continues tonight, as the Cavaliers host the Celtics. Cleveland leads that series two games to one.
