Dr. Franklin St. John Starts Education Trust for L’Anse Area Schools

L’Anse Area Students will have another opportunity to earn a scholarship toward higher education thanks to the generosity of a former LAS student. Last week L’Anse Area Schools announced that students in the future will benefit from a 1 million dollar trust for educational scholarships thanks to an alumni. Doctor Franklin St John, grew up in L’Anse and attended college at Michigan Technological University. At MTU he earned a doctorate, learned several world languages, and was able to eventually travel around the globe. St John says that he overcame many difficulties coming from humble beginnings.
