Erickson Post sends out care packages

American Legion Post 186 of Hancock mailed care packages this past weekend to military members on active duty. Deb Guilbault says they worked with a vendor to create UP themed merchandise. Also included were Sayklly’s chocolate, other snacks, books and magazines, and more.

Guilbault says families were very appreciative of the effort, and also necessary to make Operation: Copper Country Active Duty a success.

There isn’t anywhere that you can go and just find out who is serving, so it was through our press releases, posts on Facebook, word of mouth. We just asked people if they had someone serving to please contact us.

As American wars wind down in the Middle East, fewer packages have to go overseas. Guilbault says one was destined for South Korea. The rest went to bases scattered across the United States.
