Hancock Domestic Assault Suspect Dies at Second Hospital

The suspect of a violent domestic assault in Hancock last month has died. On March 23rd Hancock police responded to the 300 block of Hancock Street for a report of a domestic assault. Upon arrival police located one female and one male individual. Both were transported to UPHS – Portage for treatment of injuries sustained in the altercation.

The following day, March 24th the female victim was released from the hospital. Police report she is at home recovering with family. On the 23rd the male suspect was transported to a second hospital for further treatment of injuries, determined to be self-inflicted. On the 24th a felony warrant for the man’s arrest was issued.

Yesterday while at the second hospital, the suspect succumbed to his injuries. Because the suspect has died no charges are expected in the case. Both individuals had been living together on the 300 block of Hancock Street at the time of the incident.
