Hancock Public Schools Considering Assistance for Superintendent Search

The Hancock Public Schools’ board of education has called a special meeting for tonight. The board of education has called a special meeting in order to continue its search for a full time superintendent. Tonight the board will seek to approve accepting requests for proposals from hiring firms that will assist the district’s search.

Earlier in the summer former superintendent Steve Patchin, notified the board of his plans to retire. Last month High School Principal and Athletic Director Chris Salani was named interim superintendent.  Also during August the board of education met with the Michigan Association of School Boards. The MASB’s presentation to the board gave the board some guidance, and was helpful to new members recently added to the board of education.

The Hancock Public Schools Board of Education special meeting tonight will begin at 5 pm. The Hancock Public Schools’ board has additionally scheduled a work session prior to the special meeting.
