Hancock Public Schools Superintendent to Resign in September

Hancock Public Schools Superintendant, Steve Patchin will resign from his position with district. At the Hancock school board’s most recent meeting the board approved Pathcin’s resignation. His resignation will take effect September 30th.

Patchin came into the district back in 2019, replacing then retiring Superintendent Kipp Beaudoin. Prior to his hiring he taught in Dollar Bay Schools. In June Patchin notified the board of his intentions to resign. Early in July, the school board president and vice president met with Patchin to discuss working until the end of his remaining contract. Agreeing to a resignation date in September.

Additionally the district approved the resignation of board member Randy Heinonen. He served the board for six and half years, and worked with athletes on the girls softball team as Varsity Coach. Heinonen was recently re-elected to the Hancock Public School board in November 2022. Candidates interested in filling the open board position will need to submit documents to the school district by July 31st.
