Hancock Raises Rates At Campground

Rates at the Hancock Campground are going up.

The Hancock City Council voted to approve the rate increases at their regular meeting Wednesday.

50 amp and water sites will go up $3 (from $22.00 to $25.00), regular RV sites will increase $2 ($20.00 to $22.00) and tent sites will go up by a $1 ($14.00-$15.00).

Hancock City Manager Glenn Anderson said 2017 was a record year for attendance at the campground.

The council also gave the go-ahead for the Recreation Commission to pursue a DNR Passport grant for $75,000 to be used for an ADA addition to the campground bathroom and shower building to make it handicapped accessible.

The total cost of the project is estimated to be $115,000.
