Houghton Community Broadcasting picks up two more merit awards

Your favorite radio stations wrapped up the Michigan Association of Broadcasters awards presentations with two additional merit plaques. KBear 102.3 nabbed a trophy Thursday for Best Special Show Broadcast for our deer hunters’ roundup coverage.

On Friday, Keweenaw Report was recognized for its October 14th newscast. The lead segment was on Calumet-Laurium-Keweenaw Schools and the Board of Education’s deliberations over whether to make mask usage mandatory for students.

Houghton Community Broadcasting stations compete in Commercial Radio – Market Four. That encompasses the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and other smaller towns below the bridge.
