Houghton Council Considers Lot Split and Equipment Purchase at Regular Meeting

The city of Houghton will consider splitting a lot during tonight’s council meeting. The hope fellowship church wishes to split the lot owned by the church, creating a 1-acre sub-lot on the church’s southeast corner.

Another item on the city council agenda will consider an equipment purchase for the public works department. Currently, the city’s sander used in the winter months has become damaged over the years and requires additional maintenance costs due to its age. Houghton will consider purchasing a used sander vehicle from an auction.

The city council meeting will begin at 530 p.m. in the council chambers at the city center tonight.
