Houghton Yard and Spring Cleaning Begins

The Houghton Yard Debris and Spring Cleanup starts tomorrow.

Proof of residency is required to drop off yard debris at the public works garage.

Yard debris can be dropped off from April to November, weather permitting.

Spring Cleanup drop off is Friday, April 21st to Monday, May 5th. They accept wood under four feet, brick, and metal that can be placed in a specially labeled dumpster.

Household garbage, cardboard, lightbulbs, furniture, clothes, tires, paint and empty paint cans will not be accepted.

If you are a senior citizen or handicapped individual living in a single-family home and unable to deliver your items to the garage, the public works crew will collect the yard debris. All branches must be under 4 feet long.

Please call the city hall front desk at (906) 482-1700 and ask to be put on the list for either May 12th or 26th for spring collection.
