The Keweenaw Community Foundation has announced the recipients of their fall grants. The 90,000 dollar total in funds will be awarded to 12 different local non profit organizations and community service projects. The largest grants awarded represent 10,000 dollars for the Ahmeek Village Fire and Rescue Department, Copper Country Angel Mission, Michigan Tech Department for Visual and Performing Arts, and Tech Tutors. Two historical preservation grants were awarded to the Houghton County Historical Society and the Painesdale Mine and Shaft Incorporation.
