Lakeshore Drive Parking Deck Demolition Begins This Week

The Lakeshore drive parking garage demolition will begin this week.

The east part of the upper deck is blocked off, and today the road under the deck will be blocked off until about midway. This means that parking under the east side of the deck near Suomi’s will not be available.

There will still be parking on the west side of the deck while they are taking down the east side.

Veit will begin demolition on the canal side of the parking deck and work their way towards the buildings, which is set to begin later this week.

Those who park on the east side need to start using the parking that was specified in the parking brochure distributed by the city, which is also seen below.
