Lt. j.g. Jordan Dix is a graduate of the Naval Academy and has served in the Navy the past four years.

He is currently a US Navy damage control assistant aboard the USS Port Royal, a guided-missile cruiser operating out of Pearl Harbor.

Dix is responsible for all firefighting on board the ship, training, and in the event of an actual casualty handling any damage to the ship to include fire, flooding, chemical warfare and toxic materials.

The article also touches on how Dix learned his strong work ethic and his resiliency growing up in L’Anse.

Dix graduated from L’Anse High School in 2010.
