Lisa McKenzie to Fill Empty Hancock Council Seat

A familiar face will be joining Hancock’s city council. Hancock’s new interim council member will be Lisa McKenzie. She will take over Will Lytle’s seat. Lytle left Hancock Council about a month ago, after receiving a job offer in Moscow, ID. McKenzie previously served on the city council from 200 to 2018, McKenzie also served as the mayor of Hancock for a time. McKenzie will serve in the interim seat until November when an election can be held. At that time four seats will be open on Hancock city council.

The city’s Capital Improvement Program’s goal is to help the city manage perspective projects and funding. It is a common practice to help implement a city’s master plan into real life. Throughout the year various departments will continually re-evaluate what their capital needs are. Capital improvement programs require strong communication between the city manager, council, public works, and other departments of operation as a part of Hancock’s annual budget process.
