Local Youth Invited to Learn Back-Country Snowmobile Safety

Traveling in the back country, whether on foot, in a canoe, or on a snowmobile, includes beautiful views and sights not many will see. But the remoteness does comes with certain risks, and riders who take to the back country should know what to do in an emergency. And more important how to ride safe. This weekend Ski Doo Ambassador, Matt Downey, and friends will host the Top of the Lake Back Country Youth Clinic. The fun filled weekend starts tomorrow night with a pizza party. Saturday and Sunday the kids will learn various back country skills how to cook in the woods, and have a fun snowmobile experience. Matt Downey is joined by Owen Labadie, Dan Nadeau, Ramsey Cearley, to help teach the next generation of snowmobilers the skills to stay safe on the trail. To register for the event contact the Top of the Lake Snowmobile Museum at 906 477 6298. The youth clinic cost $40 per participant.
