Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Director Elizabeth Hertel visits the Upper Peninsula to address health care needs in the region. Last week MDHHS Director Hertel traveled to the Upper Peninsula to meet with members of the department’s U.P. leadership team and Bay Mills Indian Community President Whitney Gravelle, while also visiting with staff at health systems in Marquette and Sault Ste Marie. She says that health care needs look different across the state, and for tribes. Her department’s visits with local healthcare workers and industry and local leaders ensure their voices are heard.
