Michigan Tech Earns $5 Million Grant from the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation

Michigan Tech has received a 5 million dollar grant that will support the school’s chemical sciences building. The university has received a 5 million dollar outright grant from the Herbert H and Grace A Dow Foundation. The grant will support a series of renovations to the university’s chemical sciences building over the next four years. Tech plans to upgrade the facility’s capacity for research and ability to advance solutions in rural health and human center engineering. The university is also eligible to take advantage of a second grant from the foundation that would include 2 million dollars in match funds. University President Richard Koubek says that the grant award is another recognition of the school’s students and faculty who are leading the nation in the movement to step into the fourth industrial revolution. Adding this and other investments it signifies the importance of facility modernization so students can learn about the most advanced aspects of the study.
