More details released about Return North job fair

The Marquette, Sault Ste. Marie, and Houghton area smart zones are giving more information about the Return North job fair scheduled virtually for May 20th. Vice President of Business Development Jason Mack says the online format is returning because it helped spur participation from businesses and job seekers alike.

The fair is free for those looking for employment. Companies are charged $200 to be a part of the event. A Wednesday press release says that 25 businesses have already signed up, representing a wide variety of industries. Mack says that Return North is unique because it allows participants to get in front of people making actual hiring decisions.

The new job climate allows for opportunities for businesses that can fill roles for remote work. The area’s natural beauty and ties to world-class universities make it an attractive place to live, now that many employees are not forced to relocate to the nearest office or manufacturing plant.
