Ottawa National Forest Reforms the Resource Advisory Committee

The Ottawa National Forest will reform the Resource Advisory Committee to provide funding to natural resource projects. The Ottawa National Forest Resource Advisory Committee will begin accepting public proposals to invest 780000 dollars from the Secure Rural Schools Act. Project proposals must benefit lands in Gogebic, Iron, Baraga, Houghton, and Marquette counties. Half of the funds will go toward road maintenance, commissions, obliteration, or the restoration of streams and watersheds. Earlier this year Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack selected individuals for a 15-member advisory committee in charge of dispersing funds.
