NHL

The Red Wings couldn’t overcome an early deficit, and fell to the Bruins 5-3 yesterday. After Boston’s Trent Frederic netted the game’s first two goals, Detroit was able to tie the contest, with tallies from Jake Walman and Ben Chiarot. J-T Compher added one more, but Detroit was outscored 3-1 in the third period. Alex Lyon took the loss in net, with 19 saves.

The Wings visit the Sharks tomorrow night. Coverage will begin at 10:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Pistons begin a four-game road trip in Houston tonight. Coverage will start at 7:35 on 99.3 The Lift.

NFL

Jordan Love threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score, as the Packers routed the Vikings 33-10 last evening. Aaron Jones rushed for 120 yards. The victory means that Green Bay could clinch the final NFC wild card playoff berth if they beat the Bears next week.

A wild finish left the Lions on the short end of a 20-19 score against the Cowboys Saturday evening. Controversy continues to rage about the penalty that nullified what appeared to be a successful two-point conversion that would have won the game for Detroit. Lions’ lineman Taylor Decker caught Jared Goff’s pass, but officials nullified the play, saying that Decker had not reported as an eligible receiver, and that lineman Dan Skipper had. Decker says he did report, and video shows him holding a conversation with officials before the play. Skipper says he did not speak with officials. There are reports that the NFL has downgraded the standing of the officiating crew, and that all or most will be denied the opportunity to work post-season games.

There is no Monday night game tonight. If you played The Wolf Pro Football Challenge, you must have selected at least 13 games correctly to be eligible to become our weekly winner.
