Rep. Markkanen supports election reform even after Oversight report

An election report from the Michigan Senate Oversight Committee chaired by Ed McBroom states that there is no evidence for enough election fraud to have occurred that would change the result of the 2020 contest in the state. Getting past the summary, though, there are several red flags and former President Donald Trump took aim at McBroom over those.

Trump has accused the Michigan and Wisconsin GOPs of downplaying evidence to avoid a forensic audit of votes cast. He highlights the report’s recommendations to end automatic mailings of applications to all registered voters and its discussion on a court ruling that found Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson violated the law by issuing lenient guidance on signature matching for absentee ballots.

Many of the problems occurred in the Democratic stronghold of Wayne County. McBroom’s report said officials there likely broke the law by ejecting Republican monitors and putting up paper on the glass walls to obstruct any viewing of the process from the TCF Center lobby. Drop boxes that the county Board of Canvassers expressly forbade due to security concerns were still utilized, something McBroom’s committee called “unacceptable.” The report suggests that is enough to subject individuals for criminal prosecution.

Two truckloads of ballots were dropped off in the 3 AM and 4 AM hours respectively, which the Oversight Committee review says totaled around 16,000 ballots. The report says it looks suspicious but nothing about the final election tallies suggests they were subject to enough tampering to overturn President Biden’s 150,000 vote margin.

The report recommends several changes to election law, which are being supported by Representative Greg Markkanen and the State House. Trump says in the statement that the bills show the state GOP is worried about fraud in future elections. Democratic critics have said if the findings are correct, then the proposed laws are unnecessary and can result in voter disenfranchisement.

Statements from Markkanen and Trump are below.

State Rep. Greg Markkanen, of Hancock, this week helped advance reformative measures which work to restore confidence and create a clearer procedure for elections in the state.

The plans, Senate Bills 303-04 and 5007, establish voter identification requirements. Presenting an ID in order to cast a vote is a concept supported by 80 percent of the public, according to a recent poll conducted by Monmouth University. In 2018, the Pew Research Center found that 76 percent of Americans favored requiring everyone to show a government-issued photo ID to vote, compared to only 23 percent who opposed it.

“The data shows broad support for this issue. It’s something people want,” Markkanen said. “We have heard from many people across the state the last several months who have lost faith in Michigan’s elections process. The Legislature provided them with a platform so their concerns could be heard and now we are responding with common-sense measures that will help restore confidence in how our elections are conducted.”

The Senate bills require a voter to be provided with a provisional ballot if they do not have identification when voting in person. Provisional ballots must contain a notice that they will only be tabulated if a voter verifies their identity with a local clerk within six days after an election.

An additional $1 million in supplemental funding within House Bill 5053 would assist in implementing the Senate plans. Another bill will enhance the ability for people to obtain identification – ensuring that cost and access are not barriers to voting for anyone in Michigan. HB 5007 removes the current $10 issuance and renewal fees for a state personal identification card.

The plans now advance to the Senate for further consideration.

Michigan State Senators Mike Shirkey and Ed McBroom are doing everything possible to stop Voter Audits in order to hide the truth about November 3rd. The Senate “investigation” of the election is a cover up, and a method of getting out of a Forensic Audit for the examination of the Presidential contest.

Corrupt (?) politicians falsely claim there was no Voter Fraud in Michigan (has anyone looked at what is considered the most corrupt election city in the U.S., DETROIT?), however, they admit to “problems with the numbers” that rigged 7,048 votes to illegally give a very conservative county to Joe Biden, which raised big signals, only to then find that it was actually President Trump that won the county by 3,788 votes, not Biden.

The report mentions that Detroit engaged in “illegal actions” by blocking our poll workers, and concludes mailing of unsolicited ballot applications “demonstrates a clear vulnerability for fraud”, and then goes on to say that no one should question this election?

Instead of doing a Forensic Audit, they want to investigate the Patriots who have fought for the truth and who are exposing a very possibly Rigged Election. The truth will come out and RINO’s will pay at the polls, especially with primary voters and expected challenges. Our Country was based on Free and Fair Elections, and that’s what we must have!

Call those two Senators now and get them to do the right thing, or vote them the hell out of office!
