Three-car crash at Memorial Drive-Sharon Road intersection

Houghton City Police responded to a three-vehicle accident at around 8:45 Monday morning, which resulted in one injury.

A 72-year-old Houghton woman was driving east on Sharon Avenue when she failed to yield and entered the intersection with Memorial Drive. She was hit by a southbound vehicle, which careened into the left-hand turn lane striking another car looking to go west.

Assisting were Michigan Tech Public Safety and the Hancock Police Department. Mercy EMS was called to transport the 72-year-old driver to UP Health System – Portage. Her condition is unknown. Everyone else involved reported no injuries.
