Upper Great Lakes Health Adds OB/GYN and Geriatric Medicine Specialists to the Houghton/Hancock Area

Upper Great Lakes Health adds two new medical professionals to its group of experienced staff. UGL Health remains committed to expanding its services and filling gaps in health care for local residents. The healthcare provider has added a new OBGYN, Dr. Evon Schexnaydre, and Internal Medicine Dr. Zainab Almahrous as practitioners. UGL Health is excited the two will help expand healthcare opportunities for women and seniors in the community out of the Houghton and Hancock area.

Dr. Almahrous received her national medicine degree from the Detroit Medical Center and her internal medicine degree from St Johns Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Almahrous says her biggest priority is to help reduce the pain and discomfort of people with complete diseases. Additionally, she is enthusiastic about helping adults and seniors who face multiple health-related challenges and managing their complex medical care. Dr. Schexnaydre earned her Doctor of Medicine from Lousiana State University and practiced her OBGYN residency with the Tulane University Medical School. Working out of Hancock, Dr. Schexnaydre plans to provide comprehensive OBGYN healthcare. She says that having proactive connections with young families and women of all ages has been very rewarding while specializing in prenatal health a providing full gynecological services.
