Baraga Mother’s Day

Some Baraga County residents turned Mother’s Day into an opportunity to help two community service organizations. Local musicians performed at Zion Lutheran Church in Skanee… and those attending contributed nearly 16-hundred dollars to support Saint Vincent dePaul and the Baraga County Shelter Home. Theresa Beasley from the Shelter Home says the number of nightly stays they provide has doubled since 2010.

The Shelter is currently raising money to replace a failing roof.

Beasley says they’ve collected 65-hundred dollars of the 10-thousand dollars they need for the project, and still need additional community donations to finish the project. You can make a contribution online here – http://www.gofundme.com/6q7v64
