With the holiday shopping season just one week away, some state lawmakers are pushing a bill that would give some Michigan workers more notice about their shifts, ahead of Thanksgiving. The measure would require an employer to give an employee their schedule at least 24-hours ahead of time, or else pay that worker for an additional hour. Workers whose scheduled shifts end early unexpectedly would get paid for at least four hours of work. The bill aims to help workers juggle childcare and transportation.
