Downtown Calumet is sitting on top of one online publication’s list of must-visit Main Streets in Michigan.

Only In Your State.com lists 6^th Street first among eight main streets in Michigan you have to visit.

Yes, of course, 5th Street is REALLY Main Street, but for some reason, it wasn’t mentioned in the article.

Though not technically a ranking, the website does have Calumet at the top of the page with iconic streets such as Front Street in Traverse City, Mackinac Island and Washington Street in Marquette following.

We’ll call it first among equals.

6^th Street is recognized for what is described as beautiful 19^th Century buildings set in a historic copper mining town.

Now imagine the praise had the writer walked one block over to Calumet’s real Main Street, 5^th Street?
