Campaign Begins for Tax Increase

Now that he has been sworn in for another four years, the campaign begins for Governor Rick Snyder to sell a one-cent increase in the state sales tax that will be on the statewide ballot in May. The governor is putting together a summitt meeting to figure out how their going to tackle this campaign. Senator Tom Casperson says the best way to sell the increase to voters is to explain how it will be impacting the roads and education.

Representative Scott Dianda disagrees says that he is confident the proposal will be voted down and the problem will be back to square one.

Casperson and Dianda will be guests on this weekend’s edition of Copper Country Today.
