DPS Compromise Package Passes House

The Michigan House has voted and passed six bills that would restructure the Detroit Public Schools and help pay off the $617 million of debt.

However, Democrats who voted against the legislation said the package does nothing to address central problems at the school district.

The package now goes back to the Senate for consideration.
