Absentee Voting Starting To Tally Up

Campaigning for federal, state and local races is in full swing and headed toward the finish line.

The November 8th election is two weeks from today.

Secretary of State Ruth Johnson has said the number of requests for absentee ballots has been higher than in past presidential election years.

The state campaign director for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, Scott Hagerstrom, says volunteers have been knocking on “tens of thousands of doors” and making phone calls to get out the vote.

A senior advisor for Hillary Clinton, Stephen Neuman, says they’ll have a series of one-on one conversations statewide in person and by phone in hopes of electing Clinton.

Michigan’s version of early voting is beginning to cough up some results. Details from Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick.
