Fatal ATV Accident

A 12-year old-boy is dead following an accident in Delta County on Sunday. Delta County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene just after 5 p.m. on M-35 near 26th Lane in Brampton Township. The 12-year-old was a passenger on a four-wheeler when the driver, another juvenile boy, attempted to cross the highway, police said. The four-wheeler then hit a semi tractor trailer heading southbound. The 12-year-old was pronounced dead on scene and the driver of the four-wheeler was taken to St. Francis Hospital and treated for minor injuries before being released. The accident remains under investigation.
