Fatal Motorcycle Accident Will Go To Trial

The case involving the death of two Copper Country residents in a motorcycle accident in Ishpeming back in June will go to trial this fall. 64-year-old Gary Kappler of Ahmeek and 52-year-old Diane Palosaari of Mohawk were on their motorcycle on U.S. 41 when a Ryder truck driven by 19-year-old Raymond Anderson turned left from Lakeshore Drive and into the path of the motorcycle which had the right of way. Both Kappler and Palosaari died from their injuries. Anderson is scheduled for a jury trial October 15 in Marquette County Circuit Court. He is charged with two counts of a moving violation causing death. Each count is a one-year misdemeanor. Anderson is free after posting $500 bond.
