Fewer Blood Drives Creating A Shortage In Supply

The American Red Cross has issued an emergency request for blood and platelet donations to help replenish an extremely low blood supply.

Nearly 650 fewer Red Cross blood drives are scheduled this week than an average week due to Independence Day vacations.

But, the Red Cross is extending hours at many donation sites to allow for more donations and help offset the shortfall.
