Filtered Flint Water Now Safe, EPA Says

The Environmental Protection Agency and Health and Human Services announced that bottled water is no longer necessary for Flint residents.  That includes pregnant women, nursing moms and young children, if they use a water filter.

The groups say that filters issued by the state, effectively removed lead or reduced it to the EPA’S action level of 15 parts per billion, when installed properly.

Tom Burke, with the EPA acknowledged that some residents may still be apprehensive.

Burke says 124,000 filters were installed.
