Finlandia Foundation National to Host Finnish Dance in Ishpeming

The Finlandia Foundation National has put together the group’s first community event in the Upper Peninsula. Inviting the region’s Finnish descendants and friends to a dance. The foundation has invited Lauluaika from Minneapolis to provide music at the event. The band specializes in Finnish tunes, Nordic music, waltzes polkas, and more. Local musician Tanja Stananway has also been invited to join the band on stage. Tickets are 10 dollars at the door, refreshments and drinks are also available at the event. The dance is sponsored by the Lake Superior Chapter of the Finlandia Foundation National. Those interested in joining the chapter as a member will also have an opportunity to learn more about the group at the event. The Finlandia Foundation National’s Finnish Dance will be held at the elks club in Ishpeming Sunday July 16th, starting at 2pm.
